Women's Wear
This collection for Fall 2019 is inspired by the collegiate girl who is balancing her life between work and play. Inspired by fall colors and cozy sweaters, the Academy Collection offers a variety of outfits for the always on-the-go girl.
Sonder is a collection based off of the macro and micro interactions that people share with other people Whether it is the person down the street or our own family members, people are intertwined and paralleled with other people everyday. The word "sonder" is based on the principal that everybody in this world lives a life as vivid as our own. This collection shows how vivid each person lives their lives as well as how their interactions with other people run everyday.
This collection was inspired by simple fabric manipulations. We were challenged to play with fabric and create many samples to find which ones inspired us the most. I worked with various types of fabrics, including unconventional ones, in order to create different textures.
The Victorian and Edwardian periods inspired this collection. King Edward was involved with the military while Queen Victoria was very iconic and wore a lot of black lace after her beloved husband, King Albert, passed away. I played with the military look - very geometric, to create these pieces. I used a black brocade fabric in both pieces for a cohesive collection.
The Equation is a collection based off of the abstract expressionist, Bernard Frize. This collection captures the color and brush stroke texture that Frize creates in each painting. Besides Frize's work, I look towards geometric math equations for structure to compliment the colors.
